Samsung message app?

Samsung message app closes with in 1/2 -1 sec after opening. Bern through all the settings, cleared cache in app, restarted phone cleared cache before restart.

Any ideas?

Thanks, it's the wife's phone doing this, downloaded the Google message app for now

I'll happily uninstall Meet, or if I must, just downgrade the app version.
Google not taking accountability for their app "accidentally" crippling a system app that directly competes with Messages (at least if you have a Samsung) is just further pushing me away from anything in their ecosystem.

After reading this you've probably cursed me. Mine has been fine but I anticipate waking up and it randomly not working despite auto update being off.

When I used to play around with Samsung messages app to get RCA working on the unlock firmware using my T-Mobile or Att sim it I noticed previous version wouldn't work , I don't believe the carrier version you can uninstall it Samsung messages back then .

I meant downgrade Meet if one really needs it and run an old version.

The article says removing it fixes the issue so I'd assume reverting to an older app version would work too
