Samsung Music App question

Unless the albums were downloaded in MP3/MP4 format (i.e. purchased music) and not as part of your Amazon Music subscription, you should be able to see the files in Samsung Music automatically. If the case is the latter, those files are encrypted and can only be used by the Amazon app in the account that it belongs to (as long as the subscription is active).

All of the music in my Samsung Music is from CDs I ripped to Windows Media Player on my laptop, then transferred to the app on my phone. Every now and then, there will be an album or two that I don't own physically and will download to Amazon Music as a free download. So those won't transfer, correct?

If they aren't downloaded as MP3/MP4 files, no. If they are, then you should be able to add those to Samsung Music by selecting the download folder where those files were placed. In this case, I really don't know how Amazon Music handles purchased downloads so can't be of much help there, but you should be able to search for the file name and see if it's an un-encrypted download (and see where it was stored). If you can't find the file name, that most likely means the downloads are also encrypted and 'locked' to your Amazon Music app.

Now, if the latter is the case, you should still be able to download those albums in MP3/MP4 format on a computer and then transfer to your phone.

So here's my question, I have downloaded multiple tracks using the Amazon music app. I bought the MP3 at the time. As recent as a couple months ago these tracks would automatically get uploaded to the Samsung music app and be waiting in the "Recently downloaded" folder. This month, I downloaded and they aren't there. As a matter of fact, I can't find them anywhere??... This started when the Amazon music app started redirecting you to Amazon to buy the music. You used to be able to search, purchase and download to your library straight from the app without getting redirected. Any ideas where these tracks are being kept? Also, any recommendations on a different app to use to purchase music all together? I would love something more seamless?....

I didn't think it was ever possible to get a file copy of songs from Amazon Music, for use outside of the Amazon Music App.

eek, call me old school but I still rip CDs.
Originally, I also always ripped CDs and kept mp3 file copies. Then, copied those files onto devices when needed, to access via various music player apps. Originally, it was always a mess (in my opinion) to expect to be able to get file copies of music (files to then be able to use on other devices) from any online music store/service, with the exception of (back in the earlier days) iTunes, that used to let the user also make a "local unprotected mp3 or acc" file copy.

I may have to go back to that also. I don't want to stream, I want playlists from my own music. This digital crap is so unpredictable. It's the reason I use Samsung music player to play my music to begin with. I ripped my entire CD collection years ago. I refused to repurchase tracks I already owned. Amazon was the perfect way to supplement the new tracks and older ones I didn't have the CD for. Now that Amazon is hot mess I guess I will too go old school... buy physical music and rip) Others are also having issues with purchasing from Amazon.
