Samsung Note 20 return problem

I recently bought both the note 20 ultra and the z flip 3. I tried both and decided to return the Note 20 ultra. But low and behold I get a email from Samsung saying my refund wasn't issued because the Note 20 was was "unsent" and we're returning it to you. If it was unsent how can they be returning it. So Samsung is accusing me of sending them an empty box! So now I'm on the hook for over $1000 for the Note which I lawfully returned.

I've seen a couple of threads on google but that's all. Any suggestions as to my oprions?

Did you take any video or photos before sending it in?
You have the receipt when u sent it with the weight?
 
I didn't take any pics or videos. I do have the UPS store receipt. But its still just my word against theirs. All UPS can do is confirm the package was delivered. But how do I prove it wasn't an empty box or one stuffed with say paper?

This has taken me by surprise as I've never had a major company claim I never returned something. Google, Amazon, Apple has never done any thing like this to me.

The receipt has the weight of the package?

I always video the entire process. Learned that lesson when Verizon punked me for a phone returned.
