Samsung Note 3 thinks it is slow charging. What could the problem be?

Samsung Note 3; thinks it is slow charging.

Device is NOT plugged in to a charger. It did take a short swim in some bath water, and is operating just fine. But it keeps giving a short vibrate and the "to charge faster, use the original charger," notification. Once again, it is NOT plugged in to a charger. It charges just fine otherwise.

The vibrate is draining my battery twice as fast as normal. Should I take this thing in to a store? Or take it apart and try the rice method?
