Samsung Note 9 Okay Google Problem

When I say "Okay Google," whether the phone is locked or not locked, it often can't reach Google. This happens maybe half the time.

The phone recognizes my voice, and unlocks the phone. But if I follow it with a question, more often than not, I get an error message that reads "Can't reach Google at the moment."

If the phone is already unlocked when I say "Okay Google," I get the same results--either it answers my question or it gives me the same error message.

If I tap Assistant's mic icon and ask a question, it behaves as it should.

Any ideas?

When is the last time you rebooted your phone? Give it a try, see if that helps..

Retrain your voice and make sure you have the latest Google app update as well as Samsung Voice activated as well.

You'll need a decent data coverage or course wifi. Make sure you dont have battery saver on.

Slightly off topic, but even with Google voice etc turned off within Google settings . if I put the widget on my home screen it still accepts my voice prompt. If I delete the widget it also ceases working , which is fine.

Thanks. That appears to have solved it.

Think of your phone like a computer. If it starts doing strange things after you install and app. ie drains battery, other apps stop working like yours did etc.. try uninstalling the last app you installed and see if that fixes the new problem.
Also like you just found your phone can start running poorly for no reason at all. Like a computer things can get confused in RAM memory or just out of place on its hard drive. A reboot of a home computer often can fix those unexplained issue's that creep up seemingly for no reason. The same holds true for cellphones which is simply a small but powerful computer.. Sometimes a reboot can put things back in place proper.. Equally if you've clicked on something that contains a bug a reboot can install it and things can go sideways from there....
Just be mindful of what you've asked your phone to do and what connected environment you have it in..
Best of luck, glad my suggestion helped you out.
