Samsung "Note" Name Might Come Back

I get it!! I want more than "an S with a Pen". Back in the day, Notes came with all sorts of cool tricks. On maybe the N3 u could take a pick, then flip it over and write on the back, like names or places. #epic

I appreciate what we have now, though. I'm glad they didn't totally shut us down and take away our SPen.
Thanks for understanding. 😊

What a fun feature to flip a pic & write on the back. I would have loved that.

Maybe in the future Samsung will bring some unique tricks as you described. 🤞

There used to be a time when most of our Mods were fairly certain that there was a Samsung rep under the guise of a clandestine user name (a username that would not give away that they were associated with Samsung). I am not sure if that is still the case.

We did used to have official users from Samsung, and HTC as I recall. Those haven't been seen in a long time as far as I know.

if they were thinking of keeping the 'note' name, then they should not change the square design by rounding the corners a bit like they claim they would do for S25U. while it's a good idea to separate the Note from the S model, still the square design is what makes the note stand out from the rest of the models, right???

I'm not inclined to agree about the shape. It was the size difference and the SPen that made the Note what it was.

i like the idea of calling it 'note' again while keeping all the note's features. i definitely like the square corners design because it stands out from the rounded corner 'S' models

I'm sorry, but it really grinds my gears seeing all this news and hype about how awesome the S25U or Note or whatever is going to be when Samsung has left us high and dry waiting over 6 months for camera updates.

I fell for jumping on a new flagship with a new camera setup back with the S20U and I don't know if they ever fixed the camera issues with it.

Are you saying that you still have the S20 or that the new cameras were why you got the S24?

As for the S20, they originally said there was no fix for the S20 camera issues, but then put out a patch anyway that some claimed solved some of their issues. I guess it depended on what you saw as an issue and what type of camera user you were whether or not the patch solved anything for you. On a side Note, pun intended, the S20U ranked right up there with one of my most hated phones. I don't know what it was about that device that caused me so much grief. I didn't like it from day one for whatever reason, which day one is usually when the honeymoon starts and you can't get enough of a device, exploring it's little hidden spots and wanting to take it out into the world. Not so much for me with this device.

As for the S24, besides dumbing down some of the camera specs and making it a little extra glitchy, switching between camera sensors with the slightest change in distance, lighting, focus, while in the middle of taking a pic, what do you see as it's issues, if you have the device?

There's still camera optimizations that shouldn't take a corporation the size of Samsung over 6 months to remedy. Mostly, the zoom is nowhere near the level of other devices. You can see tons of pic comparisons on Ice Universe's X account.

Lord no, I got rid of the S20U long ago. Spec wise, it was ahead of its time. But plagued by poor camera engineering that somehow Samsung didn't catch just baffles me.

I switched from Verizon with the S20U to ATT because their plans were cheaper overall for unlimited plans, and they still allow discounts on the plan itself. Verizon was trying to nudge me into an unlimited plan but I would lose the corporate discount I had. ATT allowed me to use their Veteran's discount, so it saves me a ton.

When I was switching to ATT, they had very limited inventory due to COVID so I was stuck with the Z Fold 3 if I wanted a flagship Samsung device. I actually left the ZF3 for the S24U. I was so excited to finally have what was supposed to be a high end camera (the ZF3 was low spec) after trading in my S9+ in Feb 2020. And now, I'm stuck with a camera with high end specs and still glitches that Samsung just doesn't care to fix in a timely manner.

I guess as with the S20 OTA that "some" said took care of their issues, I would be one of them with the S24 that says I haven't noticed any issues or have any complaints. Well except for the random camera sensor changes. It's so annoying to be trying to get close to a subject and suddenly the image shifts because it changed sensors. I'm sure the other ones did it too but they weren't as noticeable for whatever reason. It just seems twitchy.
