What's the point in buying this one? It won't charge the standard S6 or S6 Edge faster than any other wireless charger but costs a lot more.

Yes I don't think this will work as it's supposed to with the S6. It works only with the Note 5 and the S6 edge plus.

Curious to know if I'm wrong. Although I don't think I am. They specifically announced this in the Note 5 keynote event.

The Samsung Wireless Charging Pad is Qi certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices, including from Samsung: Galaxy S 5, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 3 (these Galaxy smartphones require Wireless Charging Battery Covers, sold separately) as well as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 active, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, which do not require additional charging battery doors. The Fast Charge feature is compatible with only Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ models.

If you read further down, the double asterisk in the fine print mentions fast charge compatibility with later Galaxy S and Noter series devices.

Worst case. I have it for the GS7.

For G7 also it won't charge that fast since it will come for qc 3.0. But let us know if it fast charges s6 or not.

When it was first announced I asked Samsung support if it worked with the S6 and I was specifically told it would not due to hardware limitations. They didn't really go into much detail.
