Verizon Galaxy S8 Samsung pass not working with Iris scanner

Is anyone else having problems getting the iris scanner to work with Samsung Pass within the Samsung internet? When I set up Samsung pass in settings it registers my irises fine. But then when you try to use it in Samsung internet the two circles show up but it has a grey background and the iris scanner never comes on. Here's what it looks like. Using the fingerprint option with Samsung pass works. I thought it may be an issue of the wrong permissions being granted, but it says no permissions required.
