Last week Exxon announced that you can now pay with Samsung Pay inside the Speedpass+ app. (Apparently it has worked with Apple Pay for a while.)

I tried it today: You pull up to a pump, open the app, GPS figures out what station you're visiting, you enter the pump number, and you scan your fingerprint to activate Samsung Pay. That activates the pump, which operates as usual. The app will give you an e-receipt, a printed receipt, or both.

It's an interesting idea, but definitely slower than inserting a credit card or waving your phone past an MST or NFC terminal. The main benefits I see are that you don't have to swipe your card on a possibly compromised pump, you don't have to take your wallet out, and you get Samsung Rewards points.

One big flaw: Neither the printed receipt nor the e-receipt indicates which credit card you used in Samsung Pay. (Not even the last four "fake" digits.) This means I won't be able to use the app while traveling on business.
