First time poster, and first time owning a Galaxy Watch. I got the 7.

I have a Samsung S24 Ultra, my 2 debit cards are set up and working on Samsung Pay. I've had many successful transactions.

I have been trying for the last couple days to set my Samsung Pay up to my watch. I go through the motions ... select Add on my watch, it pops Samsung Pay up on my phone. When I go to add cards, it says 0 are on my phone, and that I need to upload my cards on my phone for them to be available on my watch ... meanwhile I have 2 set up, as I said previously.

I've checked my setting to make sure Pay app allows access and whatnot, doesn't seem to look like there's an issue.

I have tried turning off and on both my watch and phone in case setting bugged and didn't process, still no success.

I just deleted my Pay and Wearable app, reset my watch, reconnected watch to phone, cards are re-added and still no luck.

It's not that my banks aren't supported either, they are both listed in supported banks.

I'm having a hard time finding other alternatives that might fix this issue.

Welcome to Android Central forums.

Do you have a pattern or pin setup on your watch for security?

It's the only thing I didn't notice in your post but to have Samsung Pay on any device it needs to also have some kind of security pattern or pin set-up. I don't remember if my watch popped something up to tell me this or if it was in the app, or how this is conveyed but I would say just based on what you're saying and showing it's something this simple.

Yes, I have a pattern set. I forgot to mention that, but it's the first thing I did before going go add cards.

I'm at a loss.

It sounds like everything was a fresh install, on a freshly reset device, you're using security on the watch... I can't think of any reason it doesn't work.

Does the app have setting s on the watch? It doesn't make sense that any settings would prevent this specific thing but I'm really at a loss. It crossed my mind to ask if Samsung Pay works on the watch? Again I'm not sure how that would prevent GPay from populating cards for use, even if it were not the default app. I think at that point it just wouldn't work.

I found this video specific to the watch 7 and Google pay from a mere 5 days ago. it doesn't get any fresher than that. If this doesn't get your pay app working then you might consider that the watch is defective. Even so, I still find it difficult to imagine why the cards are populating. That just seems so uber specific.

Let us know if anything clicks after checking this out.

It's there now. When I was looking at the thread earlier it was blank, so I questioned if I posted it or not.

Anyway. I'm still stumped why the cards don't show up. I mean it would make sense if the app didn't show up, if the app didn't work, or if you couldn't scan/swipe the watch but for this element inside of the app to fail, seems just odd.

Thinking about this at the moment, it is almost like they disabled it, reminiscent of when apps removed fingerprint login on the S21 or S22 after it was found that screen protectors affected the security of the FPR. Apps didn't remove the option from their settings, it just didn't work, and this kind of feels like that. We're not going to remove the app, we're just going to make it not work.... The difference is that with the FPR there were stories about the failure and maybe even stories about apps removing the options. I don't remember precisely. I guess the test would be if GPay works because if no pay apps work that could point to something.

It is definitely something wrong with the app ... I loaded up Google Pay and the cards showed up available for my watch with 0 hesitation. Thank you for your helpful responses and knowledge, I greatly appreciate it!

I honestly thought with them both being Samsung products, the branded wallet app would have been the best option, but I guess not! Haha.
