Under deals I found cashback rewards for various Merchants. I ordered something on Walmart today and it says 5% cash back. I'm wondering if that's going to appear in the Samsung pay Visa reward digital card or if it will appear on the credit card that was used on Walmart? I couldn't really tell when I try to find out.

I can't fugue out how Samsung Pay is supposed to work with Walmart. There is no integration in the Walmart app, and my shiny new local Walmart doesn't take Samsung Pay (or Google Pay, or Apple Pay).

Are you having trouble using Samsung pay on the register at Walmart? There's a really easy trick to it and it works every time for me. When you're ringing up your sale you choose debit for payment then you use Samsung pay and in my case I use my PayPal card or my bank card and I enter the pin number and it works every time same with Sam's Club

I’ve changed my shopping habits to favor stores that accept contactless payments. I’m able to use the Starbucks app to load my card via Apple Pay (I’ve yet to try Samsung or Google, but I’m switching to my GS9+ shortly and intend to give them both a try), but I’d rather use it directly at checkout. Target, Walmart and many others are behind the times.

What I like about Samsung Pay is it works great st Walmart and Target now. I dont worry about looking for who takes it, I just look for an accessible card reader

Ah, yes, I forgot about the magnetic stripe function! That’s another point in favor of Samsung!

I must be doing something wrong then.

Oh well, I like using Walmart Pay anyway

Are you checking out as Debit on the walmart screen and using a pin number. That's how it works at both Walmart and Sam's Club. I do use Walmart Pay too sometimes.

Lots of people do, apparently, but I’m not one of them. I don’t like tying my credit card to a third party service if I can avoid it. They should just offer contactless payments at their point of sale terminals and use the app for coupons and special offers (that’s what Target does, minus contactless payments, though I can order for in-store pickup and use Apple Pay in their app).

My wife uses the Meijer app to register for coupons and they’re tied to her key tag, so that’s all she has to scan in store. And they accept the 3 big smartphone payment systems. I used to hate shopping there but I don’t mind it now that they’ve made it easier to pay with my phone.

Not tried that.

But I prefer Walmart Pay and the Savings Catcher integration.

Now that I think about it, I dunno why I commented...

What I especially like about Walmart Pay, is the savings catcher integration.

I already had my cards on file on Walmart.com, anyway when I used it for the first time.

I almost always use (99.5%) a debit card with S. Pay and it works great at Target (and most other places), but every time I've tried at Walmart the terminal pops up the Walmart Pay screen that won't go away until I insert the plastic. I think they want to lock people into W. Pay. I've given up there. Fortunately, I rarely shop Walmart.

I was hit and miss at Walmart when I had my S7Edge, so I stopped using it. Never tried with my S8, but now with my S9+, works like a charm, so I'm back to using SPay again. The only place I cannot get it to work is Publix on their devices. If anyone has any tips there, that would be great.

My bank charges for debit card transactions. I'll use a real credit card to avoid that.

I don't do Walmart anyway.

California. Also was the case when we lived in Massachusetts.
That's weird. All of the major banks I've dealt with in GA, AZ and WA (Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo), have always had free checking with direct deposit, and that included no fees for debit card transactions.
