Samsung Pay Hands On (beta tester)

I am a beta tester but it won't register my Visa card. Its from a local credit union. I hope when this goes live, it will take my card. I was soooo excited when I got the invention!

It will take almost every visa n mastercard out there when live

Just a little FYI for everyone. I got an error code, 635303, that wouldn't allow me to make payments. I called it into Samsung, since it's still in beta, but they had no idea what the code meant- they've never had anyone with that code before.
Fortunately all I had to do was reload the card, so maybe it was just an issue with the BofA.

I got my beta access on tmobile yesterday. Setting up a bank of America of America has been flawless. I have used the card on 3 different terminals. One on a VeriFone omniphone 5100 which is the number one terminal for small businesses, one on a petsmart verifone terminal which does not do chip or nfc, and on a walmart emv terminal which I cannot remember the manufacturer. In all cases it worked quickly and flawlessly. I was able to have the reader work from about 3-4 inches away from the terminal.

The app works great for me, very smooth. The persistent slide up ui I thought would be irritating but it certainly is not. Overall it seems to be the same speed or quicker than pulling out my wallet and card.

I think this is Samsung's killer app. Other than the camera I absolutely hate my software experience, but with the camera and Samsung pay, I am not certain I can live without until nfc terminals are the norm.

Not quite. Some cards (depending on your Bank) will not support virtual cards yet, so they won't be able to be added to services like Samsung Pay or Android Pay.

According Samsung's website, all US carrier versions support Samsung Pay except for Verizon. Would Pay also work in the US on a G920I or G920F? I'm looking buying a G920F from someone who has it rooted and a custom recovery on it. I would return it to 100% stock condition. Would it matter which country variant of firmware I'd flash?

I'd say it does. I'm not 100% sure, of course, but the app would 'read' the model number and check if the country/region it was intended for has Samsung Pay released or not. You could side-load it, but unless you have an US credit/debit card, it wouldn't do much good.

There's also the possibility that even if you clear root and bring it back to stock, if rooting tripped the Knox bit and the app checks for that, you're most likely not going to be able to use Samsung Pay (Android Pay, for instance, won't work on rooted devices).

I got it, was able to load in my Amex card but I get "Temporarily unavailable , connect to a wifi or mobile network to use this card" error yet I am connected. So I don't know what the deal is.
