Just as an update i guess, i was able to get the folks at Samsung pay on the phone. They told me that it was a known issue and that they were working on it on their end, they added my phone IMEI to the list of phones with the issue and said they would call me when they resolved the issue.

Does anyone know where the actual MST transmitter is on the note 8? I usually just hold the phone centered along the card swipe slot. In the app there's an image holding the top section of the back of the phone over the card swipe.

I ask because I've used my Note 7 for a year and except for the deep gas pump readers, haven't found a place it wouldn't work. But the past week I tried 2 new places with the 8 (Chinese restaurant and Little Cesar's) and without spending too much time on it had to switch to my card. The one lady was kind of rude. The Chinese restaurant may have needed a mechanical activation, it kept beeping but didn't say anything on the card reader screen. But at Little Cesar's it didn't beep or say bad card read or do anything, so I was wondering if I got the transmitter close enough to the card reader head and wondered which part of the phone it's in?

Just tonight I used it at the grocery store and the cashier said that it told her it rejected it because I made too many password attempts.

But I tried it again and it worked fine.
