samsung pay question

So i got the 20.00 reward for making a purchase with samsung pay. When I trade my phone in how do i get this 20.00 back when i re download samsung pay on my new phone?

Chances are you'll have to call Samsung to get them to re-add it to your account, although they claim it will be automatically added. Some people that already moved on from the Note 7 to the S7 line have reported that they've had to contact Samsung to get it, but they also note (no pun intended) that they've been pretty quick to do so.

the problem is i am going to exchange my phone this weekend and i broke my ankle so i can not walk or drive so i will not be able to use it before this weekend

That's OK. The debit card, in theory, would be added automatically, but the Gift Card (DD) would have to be re-added manually by copying down the code. OR, with a simple call or e-mail to Samsung, they'll do it for you.

Your own debit/credit cards MUST be re-added manually with each new device. That's just a security feature.

The Samsung Rewards card, however, is linked to your account and, at least in theory, it should restore itself automagically in any new device you set up Samsung Pay in.

For the Gift Card, just tap the card and go into 'Payment mode'. You'll see the card's number. You can then use that number to add it manually to the new device.

You should have received an email, too. That will have your essential information.

You'll have to call Samsung Pay and give them the IMEI of your current phone. When you get your new phone download and setup Samsung Pay, contact them again and give them the IMEI of your new phone, and information from you're e-mail from when you got your $20 confirmation and they will transfer the $20 (if you still haven't used it) to your new phone.

This is exactly how it worked for me... however, it took 5 + days for mine to come back. I have heard of people getting another reward for whatever, and then the card reappears automatically, and will have any unused value on it.

Before I do my recall exchange, I am going to use it up... maybe even go to a drug store (I work at one) and buy a gift card with it to something else. Google play maybe. That will capture the value for later use...ohh...just thought of this, I sell Amazon gift cards. Problem solved.

That had been my plan (to spend it before the exchange) too. Like you I work at a place that accepts Samsung Pay, but when I tried to use it to purchase something (on 9/5/16) it didn't detect and process. When I changed to my credit card in Samsung Pay it charged that instead. That led me to contact Samsung Pay support and get the information I provided above. They took down a lot of information from me (like what the terminal was : Verifone, the address, zipcode, company, time of purchase, etc) to look into the issue. Hopefully they resolved the issue, but regardless good luck with your attempt. Think I'll try other places and the gift card route as well (thanks for the idea).

Today was 9 days for me, I called, they said it's still escalated to tier 2 and hopefully will be fixed in a couple more days. I'm not holding my breath.

I am not exactly sure what happened. The app had been working fine. I tried at a gas station pump because I had read from others that it worked at the pump. It did not work so I used a card. The next time I opened Samsung Pay it was the following evening and the app was corrupted. I would like to blame the gas pump but I am not sure what caused it to corrupt.
