Samsung Pay Randomly Opening

Has anyone else had this happen?

Samsung pay keeps loading up on its own even though I've turned off all of the swipe up options so I shouldn't be accidentally opening it.

For the last day of so my screen will freeze up for a second and not accept input. Hard pressing the home bottom will give haptic feedback but not do anything. Then after a moment Samsung Pay opens up ready to activate payment.

I can't figure out what is triggering it. I thought maybe it was from swiping up by mistake with screen off or while unlocking. I turned those options off. Still happening. I turned off swiping up on homescreen as well and it's still doing it.

Other times I've been using my phone for a few minutes when it happens and yesterday once in the middle of a drive using navigation (went to hit reroute button and everything froze until samsung pay popped up a few seconds later).

I've restarted a couple of times and messed with Pay settings. I haven't noticed any new updates to Samsung Pay that would have caused this.

I'm sorry to hear that. Possibly try resetting your phone once. If that doesn't work, try to do a hard reset. It also might be a doa.

I'm having the same issue. Even with 'Apps that can appear on top' turned off.

I would try disabling the app, do a reboot then re-enable. If that doesn't help, remove it and holler at the Samsung pay support folks on Samsung's site. They appear to be quite responsive. I had it pop up at the grocery store today but that was a setting that I missed.

Yesterday I uninstalled samsung pay and will see if there's an update soon that fixes it.

I uninstalled and haven't had an issue since then.
The notifications were driving me nuts.

I love samsung pay. It really does work much better than android pay, and I get enough notifications already on my phone that it doesn't bother me. To each their own though.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled and problem went away, though you will have to add back your cards.

To add to the confusion... I just had the experience of having my Samsung S8 sitting on a QI charger. I wasn't anywhere EVEN near the phone and I watched the screen light up and my Samsung Pay cards appear on the screen. There can't be anything more random than that.... Didn't even touch the phone or the screen.

Samsung app developers need to look into this ASAP.
