Samsung Pay Rant

So Samsung Pay has been around for absolutely ages now in many markets across the world. Why the h*ll are we still waiting in the UK? One of the reasons i bought my phone and my Gear S3 is Samsung pay and i cant even use it yet.

Grrrrrrrrrrr

/Rant over

I'd say it's the carriers.... when Samsung pay came out I bought a international note 5 for dual sim purposes. There was no way to activate a non carrier phone on the USA networks and samsung pay never worked. I currently am in the U.K., just got back from Dublin too. I used my S3 and my S8+ Numerous times in Dublin and in the U.K. All with no issues but this is a carrier locked phone running on T-Mobile from the states. When I was trying to get the note 5 to work I always was told that carriers must provision the phone and if it's not theirs it won't happen.

Food for thought.

We've had many excuses from Samsung but as the story keeps changing I don't know what to believe.

Let's hope this most recent rumour is true and they're finally rolling it out.

ITS HERE !!!!!!!!

But only with some of the lesser used banks. Let's hope it doesn't take 18 months for the major ones to jump aboard

I have tried several times since the 16/5/17 to install the Samsung pay app from play store and samsung, but it is still not available. I did read a while ago that a software update is required before the app will be available for your device. I have checked for software updates on my EE s6 phone and my gear s3 but still nothing. I have waited for moths, now, the release date has passed and I can't find anyone who has been able to use it yet. Worse still apparently mst will not be included with the uk release. Samsung need to wake up. the mst feature is what separates this from the competition. I was hoping to have all my loyalty card added as well because many of these still use the mag strip. If anyone has manged to install the app I would love to hear how you did it.

the app turned up in galaxy apps store for me. it's pretty useless ATM with only 3 small banks included.

and yeah MST is a big feature. Without it I don't see a reason to switch from Android Pay

I waited so long for them to support my bank in the US I gave up, now I'm with a smaller bank and don't even bother checking availability.

I have a small local bank and they support Apple, Android and Samsung pay. It might help to put a review on their app and website. Let them know people actually want mobile payment.
