Samsung Pay?

My new S6 Edge was updated to 5.1.1. It was purchased unlocked but is now connected to my AT&T account. One the the reasons I was looking forward to upgrading ASAP (the phone arrived with 5.01) was to try out Samsung Pay. However I do not seem to have Samsung Pay as an app. Should I? If so how can I get it?

Well it seems I found the answer in another thread, and I agree, it sucks!

Quoted from a support email from Samsung about when my unlocked phone would receive Samsung pay.

"After checking all the available information at my end I would like to inform you that Samsung pay app is only available on Carrier locked. We are unable to speculate if by Samsung Pay would be available on unlocked devices in future due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion. Should this become available, it will be posted on Samsung official website."

Well that sucks big time if true. That's a very big reason I bought this phone.

This is a copy and paste from Samsung's website
"Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge users will receive a software update with Samsung Pay when the service is made available later this year in the U.S."

Have you tried Android Pay? You can find it in the Google Play Store

I guess Android (Google) Pay is what I will be forced to use. The comparisons on You Tube rate Samsung Pay a better option......

The phone? Maybe, but I like the phone a lot. I want Samsung Pay but can live without it.......
