I agree makes senseTo me, from a business standpoint, this makes sense. There are so many models & they have to deal with supply & workforce issues.
That being said, this will probably upset a lot of consumers. People are still mad over no IR Blasters, SD cards & and headphone ports.
The pitchforks & torches will probably appear.

I would say they should drop the base model, have 2 S phones, one with spen one without. These are flagship phones.I hope Samsung reconsiders that plan because the Plus model is my sweet spot. I have no interest in the plain base model phone, and I don't want the larger, most expensive phone with all the bells and whistles. If the Plus model is eliminated, the base model would need to be considerably beefed up, in my opinion.

The article keeps stating sales are down as people are going to the ultra for the bumped up features. Sales can't be down because of the economy, inflation?? Most people are going to keep their phones longer? I know people that are still using their S10+, as he says it still works why get new phone.
I can see Samsung going to 2 S series phones, but it shouldn't be the plus version going away. Maybe later after release they can do the base as their FE phone like they've done in the past.

Most all companies monitor social media for the talk on their company.I have long thought that Samsung leaks things like this on purpose to gauge consumer responses.
We read for years that the Note line would be eliminated. By the time the Note 20s arrived, the line had actually expanded. Essentially, the Note Ultra model was rebranded as an S line Ultra model.
Apparently, Samsung is also considering eliminating their A20 line.
Your comment is intelligent & I think that carries more weight than the overly emotional, dramatic, threatening statements.
I personally believe that Samsung has employees who monitor comments throughout the web.
Nothing is carved in stone yet!

Isn't the only difference the screen size?
IMO 45 watt charging is over rated. I myself wouldn't pay extra for it and it would not be a reason to move to next model. Battery size is definitely a reason to move up models. That's me though. That & the battery in the s22 was 3,700mAh while the battery
in the s22 plus was 4,500mAh, along with support for 45W fast charging.
There's just too many version Samsung puts out there , I feel they do this to cover all markets and see what sticks by now they should know and start sliming downIsn't price a big point on why some people also go with the S+ instead of the Ultra? It doesn't sell well? I actually thought it sold more than the Ultra models. Anyway, if they want to get rid of lines, - while not a line - how about stop the nonsense with the FE editions of phones that come out several months after a launch of a model. I feel like those are such a waste of resource to create these editions that really were not necessary.
Anyway, I would be surprised the S+ would go. You're really going to force people who want a large screen phone to buy one with an S Pen even if they don't want it?
