Hi,
I had one of those Samsung pushed update things on the 10th.
Ever since this was updated my battery life is now 6 hours.
I seem to have a media process that will not stop and keeps running.
It is using over 60% of my power.
Anyone else having this issue, or know how to stop the dam thing.
I have tried via Applications Manager but to no avail it keeps popping back up.

Since it was an update, it is possible the old cache is getting in the way of the new update. You can clear the phone's cache in recovery and see if that helps.
Here's how: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ing-into-recovery-mode-galaxy-s2-s3-tab2.html

Nope...
Been on battery for 45 mins and Media is at 30% battery consumption.
I have located a Media cached process which states that is belongs to andriod.process.media
This is running at 11MB.
I am not running anything, the phone is sitting here untouched since powered back up.

Sorry to say, but I am at a loss. I will keep tbinking about it though.

I am having this same issue. Was there ever a resolution to this?
I have three S3's in this house, two on T-Mobile and one on Verizon and only 1 of the T-Mobile versions is having this issue. I have done a full reset already which worked for a little while but now it is back.
I have removed all widgets, do not have very many apps installed and the ones I do have are very main stream common apps.
Any suggestions?
