Samsung S4 not charging/turning on

A

AC Question

hi all,
I turned off my samsung while updating.

I know, I shouldn't have done it. I learnt my lesson. I will appreciate if you could please skip comments on this and move directly to sound advice, if any, on what's follow.

As pressing the start button it wont let me turn off the device while updating, I took out the battery. I put it back and the mobile turned on showing only 9% of battery and none of my applications, I didn't check pics though. I plugged it in using three different cables but it does not charge any more. As a consequence, it quickly ran out of battery and now I cannot even reset it.

Any suggestions? why does it not charge anymore? could having turned it off while updating have affected the battery?

hope it is clear, happy to clarify otherwise

thanks a lot for your help in advance,
chiara.

So hey,
Sorry about your luck but maybe this info will help.
I've had the same problem with my old tablet not charging or turning on.Now I have a new tablet.
So you've tried new chargers and it still won't work? And resetting it?
Have you contacted the seller or the place where you brought it from or a tech place that specializes in tablet?
Sorry if that was no help

When you turned it off during updating, it hadn't fully updated, so you might not have the charging firmware in the phone. Power it with the original charger and the original cable. If you still can't get it to turn on, it's time for a trip to Samsung. If you're in the US, the easiest way is the Samsung Experience Center at a Best Buy store.

If it turns on, download Odin and the latest firmware for your particular model, country and carrier from SamMobile Firmwares (It doesn't have to be 4.4.2 - even if you load an earlier version into the phone it'll update over the air.) Use Odin to update the phone. (If the line with the firmware ends in an orange box with a K, that firmware can be uploaded using kies. In either case, you'll need some way to power the phone at the same time you have the data lines connected to the computer.
