I got a brand new samsung S4 less than a year ago and about 2 months ago i started noticing that my battery was just draining way too fast, and takes too long to charge. For example last night it was plugged into the wall for 5hrs and it went from 1%-14% took it off the charger to send a message on whatsapp and went down to 11%, overnight it never reaches past 80% so i basically have to have it plugged in all day to use it.
I have no idea why the phone is taking so much battery for the screen. It's currently taking 76% but i've seen it as high as 80% (will add screenshot)
Things i have already done that didn't work:
1. Delete major battery draining apps
2. Screen is always on low brightness
3. Power saving mode
4. Location services, GPS, Bluetooth and WIFI are all off
5. I've taken it in to Samsung and they reset some things (not a factory restore) and nothing happened
6. Changed the battery
I have not updated to lollipop yet ( i've heard that has had problems with battery too)
I'm not really sure what else to check or uncheck or delete/uninstall. I'm not a phone tech, so maybe its something i'm missing.
I wondered if its possibly a virus since also my apps crash every day and the phone will restart on its own and come back with half of my apps (the ones on my SD ) not working so i have to reset again.
Is it possible that a factory restore will help this?
Thanks in advanced!
