I purchase a Samsung S5 seller refurnished on August this year, now I have issue is power keeps switch it off for no reason when it is on 42% it go off and I switch it back on said 0% so I purchase a new battery by Samsung. Still go off same 42% of power. I have reboot & clear cache still appear same problem, the S5 thinks still have power but it is really 0%. Any other method to fix this problem? already install apps battery doctor did not detach any apps used too much energy.

Welcome to Android Central! Does the battery actually last for a shorter period of time? I ask this in case the battery sensor just gets stuck on 42% while the battery itself is actually continuing to drain normally, after which it shuts off when it reaches zero, despite the sensor still reading 42%.

Thank you, yes the battery icon number on the top right of S5 last from 100% down to around 42% then go black. Plug charger start from 0% yes of course sound like sensor is stuck on 42% but it is really like 1% left. When I look on battery remain on 100% it said 5hours and 50mins on standby, I have timestop watch to see how long the phone will go off from 100% to 42% is 2hours and 17 minute with everything off like Wifi and etc. is really poor length I have never had this happened before it start last Tuesday.

Is there anyway to repair myself with add apps fix the problem? new firmware?
I have 12 months warranty which is 8 months left I ought to return it for repair or replacement.

Are you saying that the links themselves don't work, or that the solutions in those links don't help?

If you download and install Samsung Smart switch on a computer/laptop, it will automatically detect your phone and you can select the option of "emergency repair" of firmware. It will automatically download and reinstall your firmware. As B. Diddy says, it sounds to me like something is corrupted. Don't install apps to monitor your battery or "save battery". They don't really do anything other than install other bloat/spy/malware on your phone.

When I plug in usb from computer to S5 said Error Samsung S5 not support with firmware or missing files please try reinstall. I have try 10 times still same. I am give up.

If you click on MORE on the top right of Smart Switch, you should see the options of installing the drivers and emergency firmware.

Make sure the drivers are installed, then click on the emergency firmware. It should download and reinstall the OS. It sounds like your firmware is corrupted. If this doesn't work, your only bet be to send it in for repairs to the depot.

I think my firmware is corrupted is 6.0.1 marshmallow, my other S3, S4 mini and S4 in the past were so brilliant no problem but this S5 is c**p. Have go to Samsung.
