Samsung S6 Edge+, microphone in Messenger has stopped working?

Hi. The microphone on my Facebook messenger has recently stopped working. I have been using this regularly to keep in touch with my grandchildren in this current situation. I can hear them clearly, probably better than ever. But they cannot hear my voice at all! Strangely my daughter said she could hear me tapping on my phone. I have tried voice recorder and am able to record my voice on my phone. Please can you help? It's my only way of talking to my grandchildren. T.I.A. Trevor

Welcome to Android Central! First, go to Settings>Apps, select Facebook Messenger, then Permissions, and make sure it has Microphone permission.

If it already does, then in that Settings>Apps menu, clear the Facebook Messenger app's cache, then open the app again and see if the problem persists.
