Samsung s7 edge private mode forgot password

I set up my private mode by using my fingerprint scan but ever since the last update, now it keeps asking me for a password which I didn't set up. I put my password which unlocks my phone but that didn't work, now what do I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify -- are you talking about using your fingerprint to access your private mode files, or to unlock the phone in the first place? Is it asking for your backup password? Any time you set up a fingerprint unlock, it will always ask you to create a backup password. And the phone will also ask you for that backup password from time to time for extra security, so if you forget it, you'll get locked out of your phone sooner or later.

I registered the private mode with the fingerprint scanner to access private mode but its now asking me for a backup passworr but I never set up a backup password for private mode. I tried to use the backup password which is used to unlock my phone but that didn't work.
