Samsung S8, how to stop getting error message "ready to connect when network quality improves".

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 that I am trying to get to work with a wireless endoscope. The endoscope puts out its own WiFi signal. I get connected to the endoscope, but I get the message in my wireless connections, after it connects: "Ready to connect when network quality improves"
Nothing happens after that. The wifi light on the endoscope is supposed to flash if it has a connection. It does not. So, there is something going on with the S8 that will not allow the traffic through between the endoscope and the phone.
The endoscope works. I can connect to it with other Android devices. I want to connect to it with my S8.
Other research I have done, people suggest going into the Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > ADVANCED, and turning of the Smart Switch. But this version does not have Smart Switch.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thank you.

Does the endoscope use an ad-hoc or WiFi Direct connection? Or does it have to connect through a wireless router?

If through a router, make sure it's close enough to the router to be sending a good strong signal to it.

If ad-hoc, make sure your phone is connecting to it (see the WiFi settings page - they may not be connecting).

I added info into my original post. The endoscope has its own WiFi built in. That is, you connect directly to the endoscope.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue with smart plug setup that has it's own wifi to do the setup to give it the home wifi info.

Welcome.

I'll try tó attract the OP's attention by mentioning the username: @SgtStedanko.

I never did get my S8 to connect to that device.

What brand of smart plug are you trying to set up? I have set up tp-links with my S8.
