Samsung S8+ Questionable button feeling under Home button

Recently I noticed a mysterious feeling near the bottom of my phone, its roughly starting from the bottom half of the home button to the very bottom edge of my phone. When my screen is locked, pushing on this area hard enough, there is a button like sensation with the respective dull clicking sound, and this wakes my phone. I cant tell exactly what this is as when my phone is unlocked, since the area covers half the home button, I end up pressing the home button itself.

Is this supposed to be here or is it because i dropped my phone 1 too many times, and something got dislodged?
