Conclusion: ran a bunch of meaningless tests and decided the SD835 is the better version to own
I've heard the 835 Snapdragon to definitely be the inferior of the two. However I find the 835 to rather be a powerhouse and extremely smooth.First time the Snapdragon has won. I finally don't have envy lol
Well yeah, in the past it has been the Exynos that has won, but the Snapdragon in this article basically beat the Exynos st everything except for peak gaming performance. However, once you accounted for the throttling that took place to stay in thermal limits, it looks like they performed about the same. The Snapdragon had better battery life though. This is pretty much a first.I've heard the 835 Snapdragon to definitely be the inferior of the two. However I find the 835 to rather be a powerhouse and extremely smooth.
I've heard the Snapdragon 835 is inferior. Is this not true? I've always heard the other processor to be the better one to have but you can't get it here in the US. Is this true and by the way which is better? This 835 Snapdragon seems to be a powerhouse to me. Make the S8 run extremely smooth. Much more so compared to both the S7 models I had last year and then they had tough wiz too which made them lag and be choppy. I got rid of both pretty fast bc of tough wiz. This S8 is 10 times more smooth and faster. It's gotta be bc of the 835 Snapdragon. Ive just hesrd the other processor is the one to have. Thoughts on who has used both processors??
I read through it and there didn't seem to be defentitive answer. Of course I won't ever know bc I don't have access to the other processor but the 835 snapdragon is definitely a powerhouse of a processor. If the other is better it'll have to beat the 835 which I just don't see how.Read the article -- It answers your question.

If you’re upgrading from a previous Android or Galaxy phone, especially one that predates the S7, the Galaxy S8’s performance and battery life will not disappoint, no matter which SoC is used. Between these two, however, across all of the tests I've run, the S835 model is certainly the better of the two in terms of those metrics.
Interesting read and that's good to know. I was totally thinking the other was the winner. Until now.The 835 has caught up. It's a better overall chip this year.
I just totally thought the Exynos was the better of the two. Maybe until this year that was the case. I've always heard that processor to be more powerful but then again the 835 is a powerhouse. I've not had any lag issues at all nor has the Interface been choppy and sticky like it was in the s7 models. I didn't use the s7 models very long due to how choppy and sticky they were. They lagged. The S8 has shown none of that to me.Samsung worked directly with them on this processor so it shouldn't be a surprise it's neck and neck with the Exynos
I was surprised when I read the article myself. Seems like Samsung wins this battle yearly.First time the Snapdragon has won. I finally don't have envy lol
What you were surprised at the 835 winning? That's what I gathered. The 835 this year took over the other processor by a margin.I was surprised when I read the article myself. Seems like Samsung wins this battle yearly.
Exyons seems to edge out the Snapdragon most every year, regarding most metrics. Not all, but most. Just saying, this year seems like it flipped. What you were surprised at the 835 winning? That's what I gathered. The 835 this year took over the other processor by a margin.
Yeah that's what I thought too. I'm shocked to be honest as the other processor has always been the better of the two. I've also heard it's more efficient too. It still maybe that. Seems like I read that is more consistent and reliable too over the snapdragon which again still maybe the case. A lot of that was performance over reliability. So I'm still not fully sold on our 835 being superior.Exyons seems to edge out the Snapdragon most every year, regarding most metrics. Not all, but most. Just saying, this year seems like it flipped.
