Samsung S9 Battery Drain

[Android Central Question]

My phone is about 18 months old. However, since the last update on 24th May the battery is draining very quickly. For example, I turned it on at 6.30am at 100% charge by 10.00 am it was 1%. All I had done was check emails, Facebook and a couple of websites. I've let it drain completely a number of times and then charged up again but still it drains. I'm not using any new apps that potentially could be causing it. Can anyone help, in layman's language please!! TIA

Welcome to Android Central! If your phone is a year and a half old, it is natural for the battery to show some age; but I too agree that that kind of a drop in battery performance is unusual.

Does this happen in Safe Mode?

I recommend creating an account with us here at Android Central - as a guest user you cannot respond to threads. Also, it would be beneficial for us to help you further if you could please post a screenshot of a typical day with battery usage, so we can better see where the issues may be coming from. Sounds like the battery needs replacing, download a app like Accu battery and get couple charge cycles out of it see battery health.
