Just looked it up. All variants have project treble.

You don't benefit from it if you have a locked bootloader. We're supposed to but carriers want a locked bootloader

You still benefit from faster updates, but yeah you won't benefit from it rom wise. Most people don't care about roms though, so it'll benefit most people.

The System Update > Check for updates
is supposed to work now. It should force an immediate update. If you don't do that, you will be in a que and an update could come as much as 2 weeks after it is released. I for one am impatient and want my updates immediately!

Could be. At least there's a shot at a benefit. Whenever I get the itch to use the new software, I'll just pull my Pixel 2 XL out of the closet and use it for a while. Benefit of having a Pixel for a backup.
