I keep getting a message that samsung galaxy wants to access Facebook

Check your Account Settings and see if Picture, Events, or Contacts are being synced to Facebook. Samsung has a special agreement with them and they add deeper integration with FB than other manufacturers, but the authorization token from FB lasts, I believe, 3 months... so every three months you have to re-authorize the device.
