Samsung Tab A7: Why can't I lower my in-call volume

For some reason, whenever I make a Duo video call, I cannot lower in-call below a certain level. The 'lowest' allowed setting is too loud for me as I make the call in a quite room and I would like to keep the sound to the minimum (say 1 or something).
Interestingly I can go to the lowest volume setting for other settings like media, notifications, etc. but not the in-call setting.
How can I fix this issue?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Galaxy Tab 10-inch forum (for the original Galaxy Tab) to the More Samsung Tablets forum (since we don't have a specific one for the A7).

Do you have any Samsung sound enhancement features turned on? An equalizer option, perhaps?
