Samsung Tab E & OTG, how do I get it working?

I understand my tab is compliant with OTG, but when I connect a usb stick it doesn't show up in Settings > Storage

Is there something else I need to do (e.g. download drivers, if so where from)?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using an actual OTG adapter, or a USB drive that has built-in OTG?

I can tell from this video that OTG USB drive support is present:

It's possible your OTG cable is faulty. Does it work with other USB devices, like a mouse or keyboard? You may need to try another OTG cable.

Tried it with a keyboard, mouse and another couple of USB sticks, nothing detected. I don't have any other devices to try the cable on.
I've ordered another OTG cable (different source) which should be here tomorrow, to see if that works.
