Samsung tablet SM-T520 with Android 4.4.2 Google Search, how can I stop the keyboard from filling the tablet screen?

Google search with keyboard fills the tablet screen. If I try to exit out of it it quickly returns. Makes my tablet useless.

Try Settings, Storage, Cached Data, and clear the cache. Then Power Off and Restart the device.
