Samsung tablets.current best for a new purchase

My Samsung pro 8.4 is getting old and am looking to replace. Any recommendations. I was thinking of just getting a TAB A 8.0 which my wife has and works fine. Also looked at the Samsung Tab s2 which might be my best choice.

Recommendations anyone for an update?

The current best is the Tab S3. Comes with an S Pen too.

Tab A 8 would be a downgrade hardware wise, less storage, RAM, and lower resolution screen. Depending what you use your tablet for it could be plenty, or you may feel disappointed.

Tab S2 8" was the last premium 8" tablet Samsung made, originally launched in 2015 but they refreshed it with a better snapdragon processor in 2016. Same is true of the 9.7" version.

As already mentioned the Tab S3 is their current best Android tablet, it's a 9.7" screen.

The 10.1 2016 version of the Tab A is a decent midrange device as well, main issue with it is only 16Gb storage.

Only want an 8 inch tablet. I guess that really just leaves the S2

The 8" S2 is a nice tablet. I bought one in June as an upgrade to my old Nexus 7 and I use it a lot; it compares favorably to my Air 2 iPad. I put a 256GB uSD in for additional storage.
