Sorry if this is in the wrong category. I was wondering which is better. What really was a deal breaker was the 256mb RAM. So 800mhz 256mb RAM(Transform)or 600mhz 512MB Ram(Optimus S)

I think it's an apples to oranges comparison. The main difference for most folks is that one is a slider and one is not. For example, SWMBO said she absolutely needs a "real" keyboard, so the Optimus was out of the question, and I wasn't about to pay the $10 monthly premium for the Epic for her. So that only left the Transform as a choice (since Sprint has already announced the Intercept is a dead-end product with no Froyo 2.2 on the way).

If you don't care about a KB and want an entry level Android phone, then the Optimus is a good choice.

Just my 2-cents.

Right now, I'd say optimus because it has froyo.

Go with optimus. Froyo makes optimus go just as fast or even faster than current transform. I compared sid by side in sprint one day. I am getting tired of waiting in the "unknown" when froyo will be available for Transform. TONS of people I know have had it for their phones for MONTHS now. What gives?

Plus the more RAM in optimus is great. I am almost out of RAM on my transform and I have only downloaded 15 apps. Not big memory ones either. It is total BS that we cannot download tons of apps and be able to send them to SD card. On my ipod touch I have almost a hundred apps and all go to that internal memory of 8gb. Wish android could do the same with bigger RAM and send to CD card.

Don't apps get stored in rom?

See that's one of the things that pisses me off about Android. Various phones doing different things. But I went into this knowing this so I can't be upset about buying it. I'm just upset for people that can't enjoy the same experience with a 2010 release device. For me, this is just a phone to hold me over until Sprint gets WP7

In any matter, the Transform is a great device after customization. Optimus is great bang for buck but aside from the bragging of having 2.2, I wouldn't invest in such a low end device and expect long term use out of it.

Blasphemy!!!!! i know a transform is def a "Hold me over" phone, but WP7,,,tsk tsk tsk lol

As for which phone,,,,,,Id say def the LG Optimus

Yes. Get the Optimus. I sold my Transform for it. WAY BETTER! Lighter, faster, bettery screen, battery life is outstanding compared to the transform, swype keyboard, more responsive, more internal memory, android 2.2, side SD card slot without taking off cover, if you can deal without having a physical keyboard and a front facing camera, then this phone is for you. It blows the Transform out of the water!!!
