So I have this Samsung fast wireless charger stand pad that I bought from carphonewarehouse. Today when i tried to use it doesn't fast charge which should say on the screen "fast charging wirelessly" but now it only say "charging wirelessly". It was still working more than a week ago. Tried charging my phone in safe mode but still doesn't work also cable just newly bought as well from official store. Also tried charging different android phone i.e S6, s7 and s8.
I have this charger pad for a year now. Please help 😕

Is this a Samsung charger or a 3rd party brand? If 3rd party, are you using the S9's charger? Some 3rd party chargers have reported that Fast Charging won't kick in because Samsung changed something in their chargers so these wireless ones are not able to 'pull' enough juice for fast charging from them as the block defaults to regular 5V/2A charging.

If it was working before, if you go to the Battery settings, tap on the menu button and go to Advanced Settings, do you see the Fast Wireless charging option, and if so, is it toggled on?

Have you tried another Fast Wireless Charger and see if the phone recognizes that?

I'm using the official samsung wireless charger the standing one. And no I haven't use any other wireless charger since it was working for more than a year now just yesterday when I used it again since I haven't used it for a month ny sister used it a week ago and it was still working. I'm also using my original S6 adapter and new cable I bought from the shop where I bought my phone (Three).

I checked the settings already but I don't see any "fast wireless charging" option only "fast cable charging". I don't remember if I have that option before. Also a few days ago there was an update to my phone (S6) and to my sister phone (s7) and mom's phone (s8) dunno if it could be that. All I know it wasn't working after that update.

Thanks

Also I saw some thread on other forum that their "fast wireless charging" is missing and now they only have the "fast cable charging" option to be toggled if they want fast charge or not.

I have the same (I think) Samsung Wireless Charger model EP-NG930 - it's the standup fast wireless charger, not the newer one that changes positions. It was Fast Charging my S8 fine for a year. Got the S9, it no longer fast charges, just normal charging. Tried without a case and no different - won't fast charge. Any ideas?

Have you tried plugging in the stand with the S9 supplied charger?

I haven't, but I'll try tonight.
I also found a video that shows an S9, go to Settings, Advanced Features, and there's an "Accessories" menu item which has a toggle for wireless fast charging. However, my T-Mobile S9 does not have the Accessories submenu inside Advanced Features - I tried enabling developer mode and that did not reveal any Accessories menu either.

It's in the Battery section for the T-Mobile variant, but it requires the phone to have detected a fast wireless charger before.

Nah the only option in that menu is for "Fast cable charging" - no wireless setting

Yup, until it detects a 'working' fast wireless charger, that option won't show up there.

Makes sense, it's there now. The issue was stupid - looked under my desk and the USB cable was partially out of the samsung charger plug from kicking the cable randomly through the day. Plugged it in all the way and now it's fast charging like normal.

Thanks for the troubleshooting help Spook!

Glad you got it working!

I have the S9 from Verizon, and I also cannot get the fast charging to work. I do not have the accessories or fast wireless charging option, and I can't plug the wireless charger in with my S9 factory charger cable because of the size difference (USB-C on the S9 and the wireless charger is a micro usb).

Unless you connect to a compatible FAST wireless charger first, you won't see the Accessories option at all. For Fast Wireless charging to work you need to use the right wired adapter to the base, too (for instance, using a Note 5 or S8 adapter won't work for Note 7/8 and S9 line, for some bizarre reason).

I'm having a similar issue, but I'm absolutely infuriated by Samsung and their greed. Here we have a nation of users not getting the best results from the technology and all because Samsung are too tight to supply the correct adaptor and cable with the wireless charger. Argos very kindly allowed me to read the instructions at a product viewing and even that didn't make it clear as to exactly which adaptor I should be using! Why not just print on the back of the packaging "PLEASE USE THE ADAPTER AND CABLE THAT WAS SUPPlIED WITH YOUR DEVICE" or better still, put one in with it and charge a few pounds more !

Not sure why yours didn't come without a charger, but the one advertised at their site does come with one AND advises that using a different charger may result in undesired operation. This directly from their site:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ack-sapphire-ep-ng930tbugus%2F&token=-ML_eOqJ
***Requires included wall charger to operate as advertised. Use of improper power source may result in damage to charging stand.

And this directly from the manual that comes with the charger.
Use only Samsung-approved chargers (5 V/2 A, 5.3 V/2 A, and 9 V/1.67 A).Unauthorised chargers may cause damage or the wireless charger may malfunction.

That's very interesting. I would add that chargers supplied by Argos and carphone warehouse are all adaptor(less).
Sorry but Samsung lost my custom as far as chargers go. This is not acceptable given the price of the item and potential damage that could be caused.
It makes me wonder if this is why so many users are having charging issues.
I'll buy a "Juice", half the price, complete with adaptor.

So you're blaming Samsung for a 3rd party charger not complying with their charging standards and thus not working properly with their Fast Charging options? Not sure you're directing your anger in the right direction...

Same would happen with any other phone/charger that follows any standard (Qi, Qualcomm's QuickCharge, etc.). If the 3rd party device (which you chose over their 1st party options) doesn't comply with the standards, then it just won't work properly. Pretty simple.

I moved this from the Galaxy S forum (for the ancient original S phone) to the S9 forum for more specific traffic.

there apears to be in issue with the charger block itself ... i use the samsung one i got with the Note 9(i tried it aswell with the charger i got from S8)

only way that i got it working was if i unplug the brick from the wall and back in(it takes a few tries) and then it starts working
