The Galaxy Watch Ultra follows in the Apple Watch Ultra's footsteps. It looks different with its circular display, but nearly all of its upgrades are inspired by (or copied directly from) Apple's flagship watch. And I don't mind this! Instead, I'm frustrated that Samsung didn't "borrow" the controls from other flagship watches like Apple's or Garmin's.

Mine hasn't arrived yet so I can't confirm, but I've read this in multiple articles including in the preorder email after I ordered mine.

"The third button sits between the usual two Back and Home keys. Samsung calls it a Quick Button, and as of this writing, it has a few functions. The primary purpose of the Quick Button is to let Galaxy Watch Ultra users initiate and control workouts without having to look at the screen or use touch controls."

Not sure about the clone thing, Samsung gear and gear 2 anyone?
Samsung's cloning isn't about the squircle; it kept its circular display so it'd have its own design identity. It's that every Apple Watch Ultra "premium" feature is used in the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It has the diving-ready titanium, the same 3,000 nits, the built-in LTE, the third button for workout shortcuts, and a siren that's the same decibels loudness.

We write a ton of "Android did X first" articles whenever Apple claims to invent something. It's only fair that we point it out when Samsung takes inspiration from Apple 🤷‍♂️

You need to some additional research my friend. You sound like an Apple fanboi. Look at Samsungs older watch designs and tell me who ripped off who. I remember buying the first Samsung smart watch and everybody said how stupid it was, how it will never catch on, how bad the battery life was, yet here we are. Same thing with the first Samsun Note phones. I got made fun of for "using a tablet" as a phone (remember when Apple said they would never make a larger sized phone?). Apple hasn't had an original design idea since the first iPad (maybe the Air Pods). They copy somebody else's designs, and everybody acts like it's such an original idea and that it's so amazing. Apple is overpriced tech for people with that feel the need to act superior and spend twice as much doing it. And I have several Macs going back to the Intel Powermac G5.
