I'm not getting the comparison you're making. The Samsung event was a bunch of people standing on a stage talking at a crowd.. what has that got to do with modern cinema?I'll tell you why these events occur, just look at the garbage Americans and much of the world watch: Transformers, Spider Man, Super Hero movies, big bang explode shoot-em-up CGI junk that captivate (some). You just can't have regular roll-outs, there's no fantasy involved, that and the marketing people tell you it's important...which is just why I don't watch them.
