It says nothing about installing usb drivers for the captivate, but I know for a fact that you need to. Otherwise it won't work. It's well documented and I've experienced it personally.

I tried this for my epic and still didn't work any other ways to try I did a hard reset and still nothing tried multipule ports on pc one running windows xp and one running vista 64 bit
