Save a Google Doc to a Local Folder

Can I write a document in Google Docs and save it to a local folder on my S10. Also, is there a good alternative to Google Docs for Android?

In order to download a Google Doc to your phone as anything else besides a PDF file, open the document, then tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right, then Share & Export, then Save As. You'll see various file formats to save as (like Word, PDF, OpenDocument, etc.). There's no Google Doc format to save the file as, and the problem with saving as a Word file is that some formatting might look a little different.

Probably the main alternative to Google Docs would be Microsoft Office. Zoho Writer is another one to consider.
