Is there a way to "save" and restore a Chrome window with all the tabs that were open in it? You can restore a windows with tabs when Chrome closes unexpectedly, but can you do the same when you close it manually without Chrome crashing? I'm talking about desktop Chrome (on Windows and ChromeOS).

Go back in your history?

That won't work, as it would require to hunt down every single tab, with other tabs I previously closed burying some of them further down. Firefox does have a "Restore previous session" feature that achieves what I want to do in Chrome. Also, if I remember correctly, when you close a Firefox window with multiple tabs, it also has a history entry for the whole window (with all the tabs that were open at the time it was closed) which can be restored with a single click.

Let me see maybe @B. Diddy might know

Oh that does work, thought it only works for tabs. Thanks! Hope it also works with a reboot between closing and restoring.

I haven't tried it after a reboot yet, but I doubt it'll work, since I think that might be cleared out of memory.

When I closed Chrome entirely on my Pixelbook, and then immediately did the Ctrl-Shift-T, Chrome opened up with all of the previous tabs as before (I thought that was what you were asking about).

Thanks for the reply. I did also install an extension (Tabs Backup & Restore) to back up my tabs. It works well, with the only downside being that it ungroups all tabs if they were in tab groups.

To anyone else wondering, yes it does restore every window, tab, and open app. Though note that some unsaved page content (like forms, etc.) might be discarded.
