Saved items and SD card question

Hi all! I know this is a basic question but I was given this phone without a manual so I am kinda lost. I am almost out of space on my phone's internal memory but have a sd card installed but am not sure how to move over pics and apps to it. Also where do things save when I download them? In previous phones there was always a "my stuff" folder and I can not for the life of me find that in this phone. I have things that I want to delete now and can not find where the phone has saved it hence the memory problem. Thank you so much for any advice. I am at my wits end here! O

For moving stuff to the sd, there are apps in the market you can use, such as app2sd.
