School Me on the Stylus

Thinking about the Note 4. I understand the stylus is good for making notes with handwriting. I am wondering if the stylus can be used in any app as though it were a finger. If so it seems like one could have a screen with few if any fingerprints.

But yes the S-Pen has many different and versitile features and the power source is the phone itself
