Scratch Resistant?!?

Has anyone else done a good job of scratching up their screen yet? I have been very careful with my phone but somehow have already scratched my screen a few times. Not that it's a huge deal and it is my fault but I had a Droid Bionic for 3 years and got only 2 scratches on it with no screen protector. Hard for me to believe that the Droid Bionic screen is more scratch resistant than the G2 screen.

Welcome to posting in the forums!

It always saddens me to read these reports. People put too much faith in Gorilla Glass. It is scratch resistant but grit and sand will mar it quite effectively. Your G2 may have been in contact with some form of the aforementioned that your Bionic was not. You may want to put an ultra-clear screen protector on it before any further damage can occur.

I had a Note 2 for 6+ months and most of those were scratch free. I'd put my trust in its Gorilla Glass 2 and and against my better judgement wasn't using any form of screen protection. Then one day, under the right fluorescent light I noticed the slightest of scratches. It bothered me so much I sold my phone. I'll use screen protectors from here on out.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD and I was drawn to it for build quality and its Gorilla Glass 2 and within the first 2 weeks I already had 3 decent scratches in the glass and it goes in its own pants or shirt pocket, nothing else in with it so I haven't the slightest idea what scratched it. I haven't been that impressed with GG ever since.

I had the same experience. Though my scratches are only visible in sunlight at just the right angle I cannot imagine how I got even a superficial surface scratch. I carry my phone in a holster and have never dropped it. It also has a case that creates lids on each side so if placed face down screen does not touch any surface. I have never seen a truly clear screen protector and I hate them but will use one from now on. I find they smudge even more readily than my screen and reduce touch sensitivity.
