Screen autolocks even when using GPS programs?

I'm a new android user and my ATT Galaxy SII is set to autolock after 2 minutes. But even when using apps that should not lock the phone, like Maps, and Waze, the screen still turns off.

Is there a setting I can change to adjust this?

While waiting for suggestions I found an app called KeepScreen that claims to allow you to select certain apps to disable auto lock for.

Still looking for a way to do this within the OS...
