Hi,

I have a single horizontal crack on my glass screen. The digitizer is still recognizing touch at the moment, but every time I swipe the device I worry I'm going to shave off a fingerprint.

Can't seem to find any links on which part or process is involved to fix it (the tear down doesn't show the screen replace). I saw a 3200 digitizer part for about $50. Is this a feasible part swap? Or is the process tricky? I heard it was fused with the LCD.

In the mean time, you can put on a screen protector. At least that way, you won't have to worry about cutting yourself.

Yes, if you can get a scree protector on it that will protect against possible cuts. As for replacement parts, I did a quick search on Google and found several retailers that sell parts. Keep in mind that the digitizer looks to be part of the glass screen, so you'll likely have to replace both.

OK. So I got curious and disassembled the galaxy tab 3 7" tonight. The digitizer peels right off the LCD screen with a bit of gentle prodding with the case tools. I tested the screen wasn't damaged after prying the digitizer off and it's still good and working. So I just ordered a digitizer off aliexpress for $35. I should be able to reuse the adhesive left from the old digitizer. Looks like this is an easy fix. Not sure why someone said it was fused.

Well thats good news because I just cracked my screen as well but its the 8" so I only need the screen and I can reuse everything else it sounds like
