Screen dims but does does not go off

Occasionally I find that that my screen dims bit does not go completely dark. If I hit the power to turn the screen off, then on again, it still exhibits the same behavior. If I power off the phone and back on it fixes it for a while that will start to act up again sometime later.

Adaptive brightness is off.

When is it dimming? If the phone's been idle for a bit, or does it happen when you're actively using it?

After the normal timing setting, for example 30 seconds, rather than go dark it just goes dim and stays like that

Does this only happen when the phone is plugged in to a charger?

No, I just during regular use
