Screen goes blank during calls

[Android Central Question]

I've read The Forum questions and answers. I have the pixel 2 XL and the screen began going blank during called and I couldn't do anything with the phone no buttons nor the screen would work until after the other person hung up or the voicemail ran out. I talk to Google about it and they sent me another phone now this phone is doing the same thing. I ordered the Google Glass protector but the issue is the same with or without the protector on. Does anybody have any ideas how to resolve this?

and none of the suggestions were useful?
You say it just began - what did you do around the time it stopped working? OS update? App updates?
Does the problem happen in Safe mode?
Are you using the phone directly or on Bluetooth?

Try uninstalling the Phone app which will take it back to an earlier version,that can help.
