When I got this Pixel 4a I could get to screen-grab with the power button - hallelujah! - now after 2 updates that gone (again) - boo!
I don't do that many grabs but damm if that wasn't convenient. Wish "they" would have kept that function.

Yeah, I've seen a few other threads about this. Is the Power/Vol Down combination too tricky? I can see how the long-press Power can be easier (especially for anyone with dexterity issues). Otherwise, you can also do a screen capture from the App Overview.

Dexterity is certainly an issue with my old hands. Power/vol down seems like an odd combo and its only with these problems occuring that I've really been using it.

It sounds like the option in the App Overview might work well for you, assuming you're on Android 11 (you posted in the Android 10 forum, by the way -- I'll move it to the Pixel 4a forum instead).

Bring up your App Overview (aka Recent Apps), and you should see an option for Screenshot at the lower left. Just tap that, and you'll take a screenshot for the app that's currently showing.

On Android 11, if you bring up the multitask screen (either the right button on 3 button navigation or swipe up from the bottom and hold) it now gives you the option to select text or do a screenshot. This screenshot is different in that it doesn't include the status bar at the top, just the content of the webpage, app, picture, etc.

You can try an app like screenmaster that will overlay an icon you can tap to grab your screen. You can also set it to shake to screen grab.
There are a few others in the Google Play as well.

Can also tell your assistant to "take a screenshot"
Then upload to Google photos from the share menu when it pops up right after
