Screen has gone totally wonky

I've had my G3 since April (Android 5.0.1) and it has been fine. Then suddenly today, the screen started going all weird - a whiteish sheen on it, and then, if left on, it looks as though the phone is trying to scroll vertically instead of horizontally. The screenshot attached shows it better than I described. As you can see, there are ghosts all over - navigation keys and hotkeys at the top, ghosting of the background image and folder icons, etc...

I did take the back off (after powering down, and the battery, SIM Card, and MicroSD card all look good and connected. Has anyone ever seen something like this?

I did completely power down. I'm charging it back up (power off) and will check if that does any good.. otherwise, guess I'll be calling AT&T tomorrow to see about a replacement.
